About Fido Fixers

America’s Largest Fleet of Mobile Spay & Neuter Clinics

Founded in 2012, Fido Fixers is a national animal welfare nonprofit committed to ending pet overpopulation through free and low-cost mobile spay and neuter services. We build, deploy, and support America’s largest fleet of mobile spay/neuter vehicles, bringing lifesaving veterinary care directly to communities where access is limited or nonexistent.

Since our founding, Fido Fixers has helped deliver more than 180,000 spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats across the United States, preventing suffering before it starts and strengthening communities nationwide.

How It Started

Fido Fixers was founded in 2012 by Lisa Wysocki and Suzanne Steinberg, who were increasingly frustrated by the seemingly never-ending number of unwanted dogs and cats entering high-kill shelters, particularly across the Southeastern United States. Both deeply committed to animal welfare, Lisa and Suzanne recognized that rescue alone could never solve the problem.

They became convinced that the most powerful, humane, and effective way to end this cycle of suffering was prevention. By bringing spay and neuter services directly into the communities with the highest rates of pet overpopulation, they believed lives could be saved before animals ever entered a shelter. From that conviction, Fido Fixers was born.

Our Mission

Fido Fixers’ mission is simple but powerful: to bring affordable spay and neuter services to dogs and cats in underserved communities, especially across the South and rural America. By deploying fully equipped mobile surgical clinics, we reach pets who would otherwise go without care, preventing countless unwanted litters and saving lives before suffering begins.

Why Mobile Spay & Neuter

In many parts of the country, families face significant barriers to veterinary care, including cost, transportation, and distance. Without access to spay and neuter services, shelters become overcrowded and animals suffer.

Mobile clinics remove those barriers.

Fido Fixers vans deliver high-quality veterinary care directly into the communities that need it most, creating immediate, measurable impact while addressing pet overpopulation at its source.

A National Fleet with Local Impact

Fido Fixers operates through a unique partnership model. We provide fully equipped mobile surgical units to qualified 501(c)(3) animal welfare organizations that manage day-to-day operations, staffing, and scheduling within their communities.

This model allows local partners to focus on care while benefiting from lifesaving infrastructure that would otherwise be out of reach. Our fleet now spans the country, serving communities from coast to coast.

A Model Built on Trust and Prevention

Fido Fixers does not receive compensation for managing or deploying our fleet. Instead, we rely entirely on private donor support to build, maintain, repair, and expand our mobile clinics.

Through donor generosity, partner organizations are able to lease fully equipped Fido Fixers vans for just $1 per month—unlocking preventative care and long-term community impact.

Transparency, accountability, and prevention are at the core of everything we do.

Our Impact

Together with our partners, Fido Fixers has:

  • Supported more than 180,000 free and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries

  • Expanded access to veterinary care in rural and underserved communities

  • Helped reduce shelter intake and euthanasia

  • Strengthened animal welfare organizations nationwide through shared infrastructure

Every mile traveled and every surgery performed is powered by donor support.

How It’s Going

Now a proud program of Providence Animal Center, Fido Fixers has supported more than 180,000 free and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries nationwide. In 2024, founder Lisa Wysocki retired and entrusted the program to Providence Animal Center to carry forward her lifesaving legacy.

Today, our growing fleet of 9 mobile clinics continues to serve high-need communities across the country, expanding access to spay and neuter, strengthening local animal welfare organizations, and delivering prevention-based solutions where they are needed most.

Why Providence Animal Center

Providence Animal Center was selected to steward Fido Fixers into its next chapter because of its deep commitment to prevention, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability in animal welfare.

As a highly respected, mission-driven organization, Providence Animal Center brings strong leadership, stability, and extensive experience managing complex animal welfare programs. PAC shares Fido Fixers’ belief that the most effective way to reduce pet homelessness and shelter overcrowding is through accessible spay and neuter services.

Under Providence Animal Center’s leadership, Fido Fixers is positioned to grow responsibly, support partners more effectively, and expand its lifesaving reach, while honoring the vision and legacy on which the program was built.

Looking Ahead

Pet overpopulation is a solvable problem, but only if access to care exists. Fido Fixers remains committed to growing our fleet, supporting our partners, and reaching more communities in need.

With continued support, we will keep building vans, expanding access, and saving lives—one mobile clinic at a time.
