Our Fido Fixers Fleet & History
Fido Fixers received its first La Boit Specialty Vehicle in late 2012—a 26-foot Ford ES50 mobile spay/neuter clinic equipped with a full operating room, ten kennels for dogs, and eight smaller ones for cats. Powered by an onboard gas generator and wrapped in vibrant, eye-catching graphics, this vehicle became the heart of the Fido Fixers mission: delivering low- or no-cost spay and neuter services to some of the most underserved counties in the United States. Each van is shared among qualified 501(c)(3) animal welfare organizations, which provide veterinary staff, daily operations, maintenance, and supplies to bring essential care directly to communities most in need. Miraculously, despite the tremendous effort required to build, deploy, and manage these units, Fido Fixers receives no compensation for this work; the entire program is made possible solely through the generosity of private donors. This unique model allows partner organizations to lease a fully equipped mobile clinic for just $1 per month, making high-impact spay and neuter accessible where it matters most. Our dream is to replicate this model across the country, expanding a national fleet of La Boit–built Fido vans that save lives, reduce overpopulation, and strengthen communities from coast to coast.
Below is our fleet and a brief history of each unit.
Fido Senior
Fido Senior, our very first Fido Fixers unit, hit the road in 2012 and has since traveled over 100,000 miles delivering vital spay and neuter services where they’re needed most. In 2014, Fido Senior found its long-term home with SNIP-IT (Spay Neuter Is Provided in Tennessee), marking our longest-running partnership to date. Together, this dedicated team and van have performed more than 42,000 spay/neuter surgeries, making a powerful, lasting impact on pet overpopulation in East Tennessee. Fido Senior represents not just the beginning of our program, but the foundation of a movement proving what’s possible when mission, mobility, and community come together. This vehicle is a gift from Steinberg & Gadel Family Foundation.

Fido Junior
Fido Junior, our second Fido Fixers mobile surgery unit, has been on the road since 2013 and has served the Houston community through Laurel’s House since January 2020. In that time, this van has traveled more than 92,000 miles and supported over 22,000 lifesaving spay and neuter surgeries, dramatically reducing preventable suffering for companion animals. By partnering with Laurel’s House, we aim to further combat pet homelessness and expand access to compassionate veterinary care, ensuring that every animal has a chance at a healthier, safer life in Houston Texas. This vehicle is a gift from Steinberg & Gadel Family Foundation.

Fido #3
Fido the 3rd, built in 2015, is our very first Fido Fixers unit to serve sunny California and with more than 88,000 miles traveled and over 3,500 spay/neuter surgeries performed since June 2024, we are proud to say we now operate coast to coast. In Los Angeles, where shelters remain critically overcrowded and affordable spay/neuter access is scarce, our partnership with The Rescue Train has been transformative. Together, we deliver high-volume, low-cost surgeries to the pets and families who need them most. Affectionately nicknamed the “Snip-Ship,” this mobile clinic not only serves family-owned pets but also works directly with LA Animal Services to sterilize animals who have already been adopted but cannot go home until their surgery is complete, freeing up desperately needed cage space and accelerating lifesaving outcomes across the city.
2015
Fido Number 4 hit the road in 2016 and has since traveled more than 97,000 miles, bringing essential veterinary care to communities in need. After years of service in South Carolina, this unit found its new home at Providence Animal Center in Media, PA, where it has supported more than 8,000 spay and neuter surgeries since June 2022. In addition to operating a thriving local Fido Van program, Providence Animal Center now proudly manages the entire national fleet of Fido Fixers. In September 2024, Fido Fixers founder Lisa Wysocki—who launched the program in 2012 in Greenwich, CT—entrusted PAC with the next chapter of her lifesaving vision as she stepped into retirement. “Providence Animal Center shares Fido Fixers’ belief that the best way to reduce pet overpopulation is through accessible spay and neuter services,” she said. “PAC has tremendous stability, depth, and leadership that is organized, motivated, and focused.”
Today, PAC is honored to both host a local Fido Van program and lead the national fleet, expanding the reach of Fido Fixers’ mission across America.

Fido #5
Fido Number 5, built in 2018, has traveled more than 40,000 miles on its mission to expand access to lifesaving veterinary care. After serving communities in North Carolina and supporting students at the Long Island School of Veterinary Medicine, this unit now operates in Mobile, Alabama, where affordable spay and neuter services are urgently needed. Partnered with Save-A-Stray Alabama, Fido Number 5 has become a critical resource in reducing pet homelessness. Since launching their spay and neuter program with Fido Fixers, Save-A-Stray has performed more than 5,000 much-needed surgeries since September 2024, bringing hope, relief, and measurable impact to animals and families in Mobile, Alabama. This vehicle is a gift from Robert and Suzanne Steinberg.

Fido #6
Fido the 6th hit the road in 2018 with a mission to confront the escalating pet overpopulation crisis in Texas. Originally funded through a generous grant from Dogs Trust Worldwide, this unit was built to deliver high-impact, accessible spay and neuter services where they were needed most. Over the years, Fido #6 has forged strong partnerships, completed more than 15,000 spay and neuter surgeries, and traveled over 22,000 miles, dramatically improving outcomes for animals across the Houston region. Today, Fido #6 is at La Boit Specialty Vehicles in Ohio for repair and refurbishment, preparing for an exciting new chapter. In 2026, it will return to the road for more lifesaving work.
Stay tuned for updates on its next destination!

Fido #7
Fido the 7th, built in 2019, was a beloved part of our fleet, having traveled just 23,000 miles while delivering more than 18,000 spay and neuter surgeries to the Asheville community through our partnership with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. Tragically, Fido #7 was completely destroyed during Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024, when unprecedented winds, floods, and mudslides devastated Western North Carolina. Brother Wolf’s shelter was lost, and their Fido van was fully submerged and rendered unusable, leaving the region suddenly without vital animal services. In the wake of this disaster, compassionate partners—including Providence Animal Center and Best Friends Animal Society—mobilized immediately. PAC deployed its own Fido van to serve as a veterinary triage center, providing emergency support to pets in crisis; together, animal welfare teams helped more than 1,200 animals in just seven weeks. Today, Brother Wolf is operating from a temporary space and working toward rebuilding a permanent home. Though losing an entire Fido van was heartbreaking, we are committed to honoring its legacy. A new Fido Fixers unit will be built in its memory, and we hope one day to return to North Carolina to continue the lifesaving work we began together.

Fido #8
Fido Number 8, created in 2022, began its journey in Florida before finding its current home with our partner Good Shepherd in Arkansas. Having already traveled more than 30,000 miles, this unit is bringing desperately needed access to veterinary care in regions where services are limited or entirely unavailable. With over 4,000 spay and neuter surgeries completed so far, Good Shepherd is making a profound and lasting impact on pet overpopulation in rural Arkansas and the surrounding communities. Together, we are breaking down barriers to care and transforming the lives of animals and families who need it most. This van was Sponsored by Connie Cioffi.

Fido #9
Fido Number 9, newly built in 2025, is the one of latest additions to our lifesaving fleet—and it’s ready to begin its journey transforming lives across Arkansas. As of December 2025, this brand-new unit is hitting the road with our trusted partner Good Shepherd to help address the state’s urgent veterinary care crisis. Through Good Shepherd’s leadership and collaboration with local organizations, Fido Number 9 will expand access to spay and neuter services in communities that need it most. We are eager to witness the impact that having a second Fido van in Arkansas will bring, strengthening animal welfare efforts and offering hope to pets and families across the region. This van is a gift from The Steinberg Family.

Fido #10
Fido Number 10, also built in 2025, is the newest addition to our fleet—and we could not be more excited to see this brand-new unit embark on its very first lifesaving journey. We are proud to announce that Fido #10 has found its home in the Atlanta, Georgia area with our trusted partner Planned PEThood, an organization that reached an extraordinary milestone of 100,000 spay/neuter surgeries this year alone. With this partnership, Fido Number 10 will bring expanded access to essential veterinary care across Georgia, reaching animals and families who need it most. We cannot wait to witness the lasting, transformative impact this newest Fido van will make throughout the region.
